Q: Do I need to be an NR= HS Member to participate in the convention?
A: Yes, although some un= sold tickets may be made available to non members a few weeks before the event.<= /p>
Q: Do I need to register= for the convention?
A: Yes, everyone partici= pating in convention excursions and events needs to register.
Q: How do I register?

Q: When will I receive my registration booklet describing convention events?
A: For those who pre-reg= istered, books were mailed on February 1st and should be arriving shortly= .
Q: If I did not pre-regi= ster, when will I be able to get a copy of this book?
A: The book will be made available to those who did not pre re-register approximately 30 days from February 1st. Keep checking our website for further details.
Q: Why do you wait that = long to send out the book to those who did not pre-register?
A: This gives members who pre-registered “first pick” of convention activities.
Q: Do I still have to pa= y the registration fee if I did not pre-register for the first mailing?
A: Yes, everyone has to register.
Q: Can I order tickets o= nline or by phone?
A: No. To be fair to everyone, all ticket orders must be mailed and processed on a first come-first served basis.
Q: Can you make hotel reservations for me?
A: No, but we have parti= cipating hotels lined up and waiting for your phone call! See the registration book for more info.
Q: Where are your events= taking place and where do I park?
A: Events will be taking=
place
at several different venues, so you’ll have to review the registration
book for specific information on each activity. For many events, busses or trains =
will
leave from downtown
Q: Will the NKP 765, UP =
844 or
any other steam locomotive be visiting
A: No. We’re lucky enough to have s=
everal
operational steam locomotives nearby and we’ll be utilizing those.
Q: I’m more into d= iesel locomotives; will there be any for me to see?
A: Yes! There are several historic diesels=
in
Q: Is this a “Stea= mtown Convention”?
A: No. Steamtown is am important part of = our event, but other organizations will be playing an equal role.
Q: Where will the photo = opportunities and runbys be held?
A: This information will= not be given out to ensure that those who have actually paid for these trips are a= ble to enjoy the benefits of doing so. Some runbys will be held in remote locations, others will be in locations where access will be strictly limited to those who paid.
Q: I’m more of a h= istory buff than a train rider, what will you offer to me?
A: There will be tours of
various museums and historic sites, seminars and other activities designed =
to
explore the rich history of
Q: I’m bringing my= family with me, will there be events that they can enjo= y?
A: We think so! We’ve got a few things like = a day trips social events and even a trolley ride to a ballgame line up that you = all should enjoy. There are plenty of restaurants, parks and stores near our convention headquarters as well, so bring the whole family!
Q: Will Steamtown’= s 2317 steam engine be running during the convention?
A: Maybe. We are working with Steamtown on possible ways to use this popular locomotive during the week of our convent= ion, but nothing is set in stone.
Q: I’m not attendi= ng the convention per say, just planning to chase the individual trips, can you gi= ve me more information like motive power, times, routes and so on?
A: No.
